On Sunday 2nd November 2008 at 9:40 pm, a man and his wife were travelling through Heydon Heath, an isolated part of Surrey, when, as they came round a bend, they noticed a large cat walking away from them in the road. The witnesses got to within 40 yards of the animal which was light fawn in colour, slinky and having a long drooping tail.
The male witness believed the animal was a small puma, it was only the size of a Springer Spaniel. The cat made its way into the woods and out of sight.
