Bexley 'beast' sighted...

During late August 2008 at around 3:20 am, a resident at Glenhurst Avenue was awoken by a strange screeching sound. Upon looking out of his window he saw a fox scurrying into the darkness followed by a huge, black animal he took to be a 'panther'. Is this the same animal that has also been seen around Thamesmead ?
